Loyola Academy (LA) is managed and administered by the Jesuits of Andhra Pradesh Jesuit Province, belonging to the Society of Jesus, an international Catholic Religious Order. Loyola Academy, Degree and Post Graduate College as well as Loyola Academy Junior College were founded by Rev. Fr. T. Baliah S.J. in 1976 in Old Alwal, Secunderabad, Andhra Pradesh, India.
LA is blessed with a sprawling campus, which consists of about 135 acres of land, with playfields and farm. It is affiliated to the prestigious Osmania University. LA Degree College was granted autonomous status in 1992 by University Grants Commission. The same autonomy was granted to the PG College in 2010 by Osmania University. Appreciating the achievements and qualitative pursuit of higher educational needs, UGC has awarded a rare status known as "College with Potential for Excellence" to this College and has also extended CPE phase II projects. In addition to this, National Accreditation and Assessment Council reaccredited this college in 2011and awarded, ‘A’ grade (3.50 out of 4 CGPA) for the second time, in recognition of its excellent contribution to the cause of higher education. We are also proud to state that ‘India Today’ has been rating our college in the second position for the past five consecutive years among the city colleges of Hyderabad for Arts, Science and Commerce.
