//////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

31st July 2014: Members of the Jesuit Society celebrate the life and works of St. Ignatius of Loyola on the 31st of July every year. A prayer service was held for teaching and non-teaching staff of the Junior, Undergraduate, and Postgraduate sections on 31st July 2014 in the Junior college.

The service commenced with a video screening of the prayer song ‘Instruments of Peace’. This was followed by readings from all the Holy Scriptures. Rev Fr Packia Raj, Head, Campus Ministry and Rev Fr Kishore, COE led the congregation in the chorus ‘I Exalt Thee’. Rev Fr Stanislaus, Rector, threw light on the life of St. Ignatius; his tremendous contribution to the Jesuit Society and the great legacy he left behind.

Mrs. Sheela, Lecturer (English), Junior College, led the felicitation of the Fathers and Brothers of the Jesuit Society. Mrs. Lalitha Nelson, HOD, Department of Chemical Technology, appreciated the efforts of the Jesuit Society in not only providing quality education but also in building the moral character of every student. Ms. Jacintha Vincent, HOD, B.Com.Computer Dept. from the Degree college led the felicitation of the Fathers and Brothers.

Rev Fr Packiaraj, enlightened the members of the congregation on the Ten Elements of Ignatius Spirituality, laying emphasis on the Sixth Element, i.e. ‘Sum up at night what thou hast done by day’. He reminded the staff about the crucial importance of introspection; spending at least five minutes at the end of the day to look back and analyse how productive one has been and also to ask forgiveness for the errors one has made. This marked the end of the service.

Members of the staff and Management enjoyed fellowship over Lunch.
